Lindsay Hermann
Lindsay Hermann is the heart behind Paws and Play Gundogs, based in the stunning Derbyshire Dales. With over a decade of experience teaching pet gundog courses, her journey began with a Springer x Labrador; Scarlett – and a passion for building stronger relationships between dogs and their humans.
These days, she shares life with 4 dogs: Labradors Hobbs and Tully, and Working Cocker Spaniels Ellie and Maola.
During the shooting season, Lindsay works Hobbs on a picking-up team and Ellie on the beating line for a local shoot. She also enjoys competing in Kennel Club Working Tests – with Hobbs placing 1st in both a NHND and a Novice, and Tully 2nd in Puppy in 2024.
She also works her dogs through the Gundog Club Grades, achieving up to Grade 5 with Hobbs, Grade 4 with Ellie, Grade 3 with Tully all Distinctions, and Maola, just 11 months old, is preparing for Grade 1.
Lindsay’s training is rooted in understanding how dogs learn and building trust through teamwork. Using food, toys, play, and the environment, she helps owners harness their gundog’s natural instincts through fun, structured, and rewarding training.
Whether your aim is a well-rounded pet, a confident working partner, or a dog ready for competition, Lindsay believes the key to success is simple: happy dogs learn best – and kind, consistent training creates partnerships that last.
