Bitches in Season are allowed to attend group sessions, please let me know.
GROUP SESSION BOOKING CHANGES
Groups will need to be paid for at the time of booking, once your place is confirmed, and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
As groups are more challenging to organise there will be no refund for group sessions, however, if you can find someone else to take your slot, I’m happy for you to do that. Payment in the usual way via BACS.
Managing Arousal and Working in Groups
These groups are designed to help dogs learn to manage their arousal when working around other dogs and in an exciting situation

Fri at 1.30-3.30pm
Gundog Training Groups 2026
These will be loosely based on the Gundog Club Graded Tests. Each Group will be aimed at a certain level.
G1 – This will be looking at learning to work in a group, on-lead heelwork, stays, basic retrieve, recall.
G2 – This will be looking at off-lead heelwork, stays, basic hunting for hunting breeds, steadiness, hand delivery, memory retrieves and directed retrieves.
G3/4 – This will be looking at proofing off-lead heelwork, stays and retrieves, more challenging hunting and retrieving exercises and introducing and working with shot. These will be split in to Hunting Breeds and Retrievers
G5 – This will be split into Hunting Retrievers and Retrievers. There will be shot.
G1 and G2 Groups Saturdays 1.30-3pm cost £52.50 Max 4 dogs

Gundog Training Weekend with Julia Griffiths and Leanne Smith – 29-30th August 2026
Join experienced trainers Julia Griffiths and Leanne Smith for a focused and rewarding Gundog Training Weekend designed to develop and refine your dog’s natural working ability.
📍 Sholford Farm, TA4 2HB
📅 29–30th August 2026
This weekend will cover:
- Hunting techniques – creating a good pattern and refining it for competition or grades
- Retrieving – improving delivery, drive & marking
- Water work – building confidence and control
- Working on exercises for the Gundog Club Grades
- Steadiness and self-management
🐶 Open to all gundog breeds and abilities
✨ Maximum of 6 dogs & handlers per group (2 groups) – ensuring plenty of individual attention and tailored coaching throughout the weekend.
💷 Cost:
• £150 per dog & handler
• £50 spectator places available
🕘 Training Schedule:
• Two sessions per day
• 9:30am – 12:30pm & 1:30pm – 4:30pm
• Opportunity to work with both trainers across both days
👥 Groups will be split according to the dogs attending, ensuring suitable training levels and the best experience for all.
🔫 There will be the potential to use shot during the course for those who require it. The training ground is large enough to comfortably accommodate dogs who are not used to or do not like shot, allowing them to work at a suitable distance if needed.

Camping is available onsite – drinking water and compost loo available – £10 per night.
There is a potential for a group BBQ on the Saturday evening if there are sufficient people interested.
