Sunday Workshops

21st August – More Heelwork and Hunting

This workshop run by Gwen Johnson and Leanne Smith is back by popular demand.

Gwen will be working with you to improve your dog’s understanding and motivation during heelwork.

Leanne will be working on helping you and your dog to build a better working team during hunting and develop your dog’s ability to listen and respond during hunting.

This workshop is suitable for any breed type, Retriever, HPR or Spaniel. Each dog will be helped to hunt in a breed specific manner and for their required task.

10 September – Beginner Gundog (Grades 1-2 no shot)

11 September – Advanced Gundog (Grades 3-5 shot)

9th October – More Outdoor Focus and Impulse Control

Gundog Training Groups 2022

These will be loosely based on the Gundog Club Graded Tests.  Each Group will be aimed at a certain level.

 G1 – This will be looking at learning to work in a group, on-lead heelwork, stays, basic retrieve, recall.

G2 – This will be looking at off-lead heelwork, stays, basic hunting for hunting breeds, steadiness, hand delivery, memory retrieves and directed retrieves.

G3 – This will be looking at proofing off-lead heelwork, stays and retrieves, more challenging hunting and retrieving exercises and introducing shot.

G4/5 – This will be looking at building from G3 work.  This may need to be split into Hunting breeds and Retrievers depending on numbers.  There will be shot.

The Groups will have a maximum of 4 Dogs and will run on a Saturday afternoon from 13.30 to 15.00

Cost £30 per dog and Handler

Sat 23rd July – Water Training Day – Nr. Wimbleball Lake

The day will be split into two sessions, Beginners in the morning (09.30-12.30) and Advanced dogs in the afternoon (13.30-16.30).  The cost will be £75 per dog and handler, £40 for a spectator.  Max 6 working places per group.   Please email for a registration form.
