In 2019 Dogs R Dogs moved to our current purpose built training venue in Silverton.
It has 4.5 acres of varied terrain which provides a variety of different situations for training your dog. We have a smaller fenced area at the top of the hill where we have the Training Cabin, 12 x 24″ of heated (when needed) indoor space for when we need to cut down the challenge of the environment or alternatively escape the rain!
We have hills , streams, a copse, ditches, rough areas for hunting and a securely fenced half-acre paddock for those dogs who are learning about being safely off lead.
The training ground is constantly being upgraded and new challenges for training provided.
We have individual pods for group training, when the dogs need down time to rest and to learn how to watch others. The pods provide shade in the summer and protection from the rain in inclement weather. These really help with young our inexperienced dogs who are starting out in group training.
The Copse also provides shade in the summer and a cool place to train when the temperatures are climbing. This means that we do not have to cancel summer training as we have appropriate places to train and also we work on temperature appropriate tasks.
There a living jump box that is slowly taking shape in the lower secure paddock. We planted willow trees and are slowly training these to provide a box jump for training the dogs. It also provides a lovely shady spot for dogs during warm weather.
The training ground, minus the cabin area, is available for hire to Dogs R Dogs Clients who would like a private area to train their dogs. The cost is £15 per hour and the ground is available when Leanne is not teaching. Please email Leanne to find out availability and to book your slot.
Leanne can also provide set ups for training tasks during your booked session, for an extra £5 per task set up. These will be tailored to you and your dogs. Laminated cards with instructions will be provided and dummies etc laid out where required, in advance. This can be arranged with Leanne when you book your slot.
