Training Diary Day 25-29

Day 25

No training as such but I did notice that when I stopped to talk to people on both walks today there were no impatient squeaks to get me moving even though on the first walk of the day we didn’t even get started before I was side tracked. A small thing but I feel that it is a bit more progress.

Day 26

Phase 2 of crate games. I have swapped the wire crate for a folding bed which has a soft crate attachment to see if ultimately we can get to the point where he will wait on the bed minus the crate top bit.

We went through the stages and got to the change yer mind game. We only had one mistake when I dropped several pieces of food on the floor near the bed and he left the bed.  I intercepted him before he got the food and the second time he remembered to stay put!

Day 27

We spent time consolidating the behaviours practiced yesterday and added some more distance on the send. A few hesitations to start with but then Erik trotted over and went into the crate from in the hall way.

Day 28

No training

Day 29

Further consolidation with more speed and drive for the send back to the crate. No mistakes or hesitation today.
