I managed a little bit of recall training today as Ragnar has worked out how to take a treat! So I will see if I can continue to do a little bit each day.  He was very good at work again.

I have manged to work out that Ragnar will eat better when he is in his crate and nothing else is happening so I will try that today to see if we can get his eating to a bit more established pattern. I weighed him today, so despite not eating massively well he has still put on over half a kg in a week so not too bad.  He clearly has been eating enough to still grow!

I had family visiting for the weekend and so Ragnar met 4 new people and was totally unfazed by the whole experience as usual 🙂  He had a great day being entertained by my nieces.  We can tick meeting teenagers off his list of things to do.

Today we went to visit a friend and Ragnar met her gentle, elderly lab who was great with him.  He was a little bit cautious for about 30 seconds then decided that she wasn’t going to eat him and then set about exploring the new garden.  He also met my friend’s children so that was another good experience tucked under his belt.

He is also doing really well being left in the car whilst I walk Erik, once he has had opportunity to be out and play. He is happy to be left up to an hour and I think he sleeps through most of it.

We visited our usual morning walk at my friend’s farm and did a bit of training, some recall, sit and walking next to me. He is taking chicken as a reward really well now so we can start to do some training each day.

He is getting used to seeing the free range Bantams in the yard and is interested in them but comes away when he is called so far!

He wandered off whilst I was putting Erik in the car and met the resident dogs through the garden gate, one of whom barked at him and he shot off across the yard and waited for me to go and get him. He was fine once I was there and then carried on as if nothing had happened.

His new adventure today was visiting another friend, her grown up children and a couple of her spaniels. Ragnar took all of this in his stride also and had a really good time rampaging around a new garden and enjoyed the pampas grass which is lots of fun to run around with 🙂
