Sally Jones

My name is Sally Jones and I live in Devon with my husband, Steve. I am a qualified behaviour consultant (post graduate diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling from Southampton University) and a full member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors.  I am an agility competitor and judge in both the UK and abroad and since 2012 have been the coach to the Italian National Agility Squad at the World Agility Open. I am the owner of multiple dogs and in the past they have mostly been rescue dogs taken on as adults but in recent years I’ve treated myself to shiny new puppies and have even bred a litter in house. I therefore benefit from a sound academic background bolstered by daily hands on experience. I have been teaching dog sports on a casual basis since 1990 but it was not until March 2001 that I realised my dream and became a full-time trainer and behaviourist. I have my own indoor and outdoor training facility so teaching can go ahead whatever the weather.

I have lectured for the Psychology Department of Exeter University, and have written for the UK and US’s leading dog agility magazines.  I have presented seminars as far afield as South Africa and the US and still regularly teach in Italy.

Sally has decided to take early retirement and to leave Dogs R Dogs in the capable hands of Leanne Smith.  She would like to thank all of her clients over the past 18 years and wishes Leanne all the best for taking the business forward.  Her page will stay here to provide some background history for the company.
